VCW Certification

The VCW (Value Creation Wheel) Certification aims to equip individuals and organizations with the skills and knowledge to effectively use the VCW methodology for innovation, decision-making, problem-solving, transformation, and value creation. While the specific certification levels can vary, they generally follow a structured approach to ensure a comprehensive understanding and application of the VCW.

How to innovate, make decisions and solve challenges using the Value Creation Wheel?

As the duration increases, so does the degree of challenge complexity, customization, and co-creation sophistication.

As the complexity increases, so does the requirement of human resources, budget, time, and motivation (5Ms – Manpower, Minutes, Money, Motivation, Metaintelligence)

Levels of Complexity

Each certification level builds on the previous one, ensuring a structured learning path and progressively deeper understanding and application of the VCW methodology.

Key Features per Level

VCW Funnel: This pre-certification stage consists on introductory workshops to break the ice and align stakeholders for a specific challenge (docs online for non-certified people).

VCW Sprint: Simplified workshops for time-sensitive, well-defined problems.

VCW Journey: Focused on moderate challenges requiring iterative problem-solving and stakeholder collaboration.

VCW Method: Comprehensive approach for detailed solution development and multi-stakeholder engagement.

VCW Meta Framework: Deep integration for large-scale, long-term interdisciplinary innovation projects.

VCW Ecosystem: Master-level implementation for sustaining innovation, decision-making, and problem-solving ecosystems.

Level Certification Name Purpose Total h In Class/Study

VCW Certification for Trainers

In addition to the VCW requirements for Certification (see Table Above), an extra exam is required for the following certifications: VCW Sprint Trainer, VCW Journey Trainer, VCW Method Trainer, VCW Meta Framework Trainer, and VCW Ecosystem Trainer. Depending on the certification level, the exam will have different degrees of difficulty.

Certified trainers embody a holistic blend of qualifications, competencies, and personal attributes essential for delivering effective learning experiences. Here's an overview of the expectations associated with certified trainers:

Validity of VCW Certification: Three Years

The validity period of the Value Creation Wheel certification is 3 years. The Certification balances the need to ensure the current knowledge and skills of the VCW with the practicalities of professional development. Here are some considerations to determine an appropriate validity period for a VCW certification:

Key Considerations

1. Continuing Education: Many certifications are valid for 2-5 years. Offering mechanisms for continuing education and professional development can help maintain certification validity. This could include attending VCW workshops, completing additional coursework, or participating in relevant professional activities.

2. Learning Retention and Skill Relevance: Skills and knowledge become outdated. Ensuring that certified individuals stay proficient and up to date requires periodic re-certification.

3. Rate of Industry Change and Cultural Context: In rapidly evolving fields, a shorter certification validity ensures practitioners remain current with the latest trends, methodologies, and technologies. This is the case in innovation, decision-making, change/transformation, problem-solving, and value creation.

Recertification Requirements

To maintain certification validity, the following recertification requirements can be implemented:

1. Continuing Education: Require a certain number of continuing education units (CEUs) or professional development hours within the validity period.

2. Professional Practice: Document ongoing professional practice and engagement in relevant projects or roles.

3. Renewal Exam: A shorter, focused exam that tests updated knowledge and skills.

5. Workshops/Seminars: Attendance and participation in relevant workshops, seminars, or conferences.

6. Case Study Submission: Submission of a case study or project demonstrating the application of VCW in a real-world context.

By setting a three-year validity period and establishing clear recertification requirements, the certification program can ensure that practitioners remain competent and current in their field, thereby maintaining the integrity and value of the certification.
