VCW for Tourism
2025
During the VCW by the Beach event of the Postgraduate Program in Leading Tourism & Hospitality at Universidade Nova de Lisboa, executives applied the Value Creation Wheel to address real challenges faced by the tourism and hospitality sector. The session brought together professionals from seven NOVA faculties and major industry partners, combining co-creation, innovation, and strategic decision-making.
Participants worked on concrete problems submitted by Portuguese tourism organizations, developing actionable solutions for issues such as sustainable growth, digital transformation, guest experience, employee engagement, and seasonal demand.

Designing an innovative food court concept in Melides
Enhancing the guest experience at Casa da Célia in Tavira
Increasing employee engagement at Martinhal Chiado
Improving energy efficiency at Village Cabo Girão in Madeira
Reducing host dependency at Flores do Campo
Addressing seasonality in the Land of Alandroal
The event showcased the power of the VCW methodology to align diverse stakeholders around practical, high-impact solutions. It also highlighted NOVA’s interdisciplinary approach, where universities, companies, and public institutions collaborate to shape the future of tourism and hospitality in Portugal.

Executives and leaders from around the world participating in the VCW Journey Certification at Nova SBE. Through co-creation, strategic decision-making, and the VCW methodology, participants tackled real-world challenges and developed actionable solutions.
VCW at Fundação Dom Cabral

At Fundação Dom Cabral in Brazil, participants applied the VCW Funnel during the Creating Value Conference to explore how organizations can develop sustainable solutions. The session combined co-creation and artificial intelligence to support decision-making and value creation.
